UNS S32304 stainless steel is a duplex stainless steel that combines the characteristics of austenite and ferrite. This stainless steel plate offers excellent corrosion resistance, high strength, and good weldability. Understanding its processing technology and hardness is crucial during manufacturing to ensure optimal quality and performance of the final product.

Density: 8.2g/cm³, Thermal Expansion Coefficient: 0.0000016cm/cm/°C, Thermal Conductivity: 16.2W/m*°C, Elastic Modulus: 199GPa. These properties ensure UNS S32304 stainless steel plate maintains excellent stability and mechanical performance in both high and low temperature environments.
This material demonstrates superior corrosion resistance against strong corrosive media including seawater, chlorides, and sulfates. It outperforms conventional austenitic stainless steel in chlorine-containing environments, with reduced susceptibility to red rust and pitting corrosion while maintaining excellent corrosion resistance and ductility.
UNS S32304 offers approximately twice the strength of austenitic stainless steel with excellent fatigue resistance. Its yield strength is double that of 304L/316L austenitic stainless steel, enabling designers to reduce product weight. The material also provides superior resistance to stress corrosion compared to 304 and 316 austenitic stainless steels.
This stainless steel exhibits excellent welding characteristics and can be welded using conventional methods such as TIG and MIG. Proper heat treatment after welding restores the material's corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.
The material demonstrates excellent processing capabilities and can be formed through hot rolling, cold rolling, and forging processes, making it suitable for diverse production requirements.
With low magnetic permeability, UNS S32304 effectively reduces electromagnetic interference and provides superior electromagnetic shielding performance. This makes it ideal for manufacturing magnetic isolators, medical device housings, and other products requiring high electromagnetic shielding capabilities.
