TC4 (Ti-6Al-4V) titanium alloy rods are high-performance materials available in various forms including solid round bars, square bars, and hexagonal bars. These rods feature excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance suitable for demanding industrial applications.

Manufacturing Process
  • Smelting Process: Vacuum arc remelting (VAR) ≥ 2 times; high-end/medical grade adopts double or triple melting via vacuum induction melting + vacuum arc remelting (VIM+VAR)
  • Forming Process: Hot forging → hot rolling → (cold drawing / cold rolling) → heat treatment → turning / polishing
  • Heat Treatment Conditions:
    • Annealed condition (M): Most commonly used, balanced comprehensive properties
    • Hot-worked condition (R): Without heat treatment, high strength, slightly low ductility
    • Cold-worked condition (Y): Strengthened by cold drawing / cold rolling, high dimensional accuracy
    • Solution and aged condition (ST): Custom high-strength condition (section ≤ 25mm)

  • Excellent corrosion resistance: Forms dense oxide film in seawater, atmosphere and most acid-base environments

Production Process
  • Raw Material Preparation: Titanium sponge + Al-V master alloy → mixing → electrode compaction
  • Vacuum Melting: 2-3 times remelting in VAR furnace → high-purity ingot obtained
  • Hot Working: Ingot heating (1100-1150℃) → billet forging → hot rolling into bars
  • Heat Treatment: Annealing (700-800℃, air cooling) or solution aging
  • Finishing: Turning / polishing → straightening → non-destructive testing (ultrasonic / eddy current)
  • Inspection & Packaging: Composition / property / dimension inspection → rust-proof packaging → warehousing
