Chemical composition:
UNS S32205 Stainless Steel Plate Mainly composed of iron, chromium, nickel, molybdenum, manganese, nitrogen and other elements. The typical chemical composition content is roughly: chromium (Cr) 21-23%, nickel (Ni) 4.5-6.5%, molybdenum (Mo) 2.5-3.5%, manganese (Mn) maximum 2.0%, carbon (C) maximum 0.03%, nitrogen (N) 0.08-0.2%, silicon (Si) maximum 1.0%, phosphorus (P) maximum 0.03%, sulfur (S) maximum 0.02%
Characteristics:
Good corrosion resistance: Excellent performance in a variety of corrosive environments, especially in chloride-containing environments such as seawater, chemical liquids, etc., with high resistance to pitting and stress corrosion, and its corrosion resistance is better than that of fully austenitic 304, 316 and 317L stainless steels. UNS S32205 Stainless Steel Plate has excellent resistance to sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, nitric acid and many other acids and salts, and also has high resistance to acetic acid, formic acid and other organic acids and compounds. It is particularly suitable for high concentration and temperature environments that are prone to pitting and selective corrosion in the presence of chlorides and other impurities. Compared with austenitic stainless steel, it has better resistance to stress corrosion cracking, crevice corrosion and pitting.
High strength: It has high yield strength and tensile strength, and good toughness. The yield strength is usually a minimum of 65,000psi (about 448MPa) and the tensile strength is a minimum of 90,000psi (about 621MPa). This high strength makes it suitable for some applications that require higher strength and corrosion resistance, such as offshore platform structures, oil drilling equipment and chemical pressure vessels.
Duplex structure: It has both austenite and ferrite structures, which makes it have good corrosion resistance and stress corrosion resistance, while also maintaining good weldability and processing properties.
Good welding performance: It can easily handle both manual welding and automated welding, and can be welded by conventional welding methods. The strength and sealing of the joints after welding are good
