Product Overview
304 colored vacuum deposition coated metal sheet uses ASTM A240 304 stainless steel as base substrate. The decorative colour finish is produced via Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) vacuum coating process. It retains stainless steel’s structural strength and anti-corrosion performance, paired with vibrant colored surfaces widely used for architectural and interior decorative applications.
We supply sheets in thickness ranging 0.8 mm–2.0 mm, standard panel dimension 1219 × 2438 mm (4×8 ft). Typical applications include elevator cabin interiors, wall cladding, ceiling panels, decorative columns, hotel fit-outs and commercial construction projects.
Custom color options, surface finishes and secondary sheet fabrication services can be tailored to meet individual project specifications.
Base Material and Chemical Composition
The substrate is Grade 304 stainless steel, an austenitic stainless steel commonly used for architectural and decorative applications.
Typical chemical composition limits for Type 304 under ASTM A240 are shown below.

The PVD coating provides the decorative color layer. It does not change the nominal grade of the stainless steel substrate.
PVD Vacuum Deposition Coating
PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) vacuum coating is a surface treatment process that deposits a thin decorative coating onto stainless steel in a vacuum environment. It creates colored metallic finishes while preserving the underlying stainless steel substrate.
PVD Coating Process
1. Surface Preparation: The stainless steel sheet is polished, brushed, or otherwise finished, then cleaned to remove contaminants.
2. Vacuum Treatment: The sheet is placed in a vacuum chamber to establish suitable coating conditions.
3. Coating Deposition: Coating materials are vaporized and deposited onto the prepared surface to create the selected color and finish.
4. Quality Inspection: The finished sheet is checked for color consistency, surface appearance, and agreed coating requirements.
PVD Coating vs. Traditional Painting
PVD coating and traditional painting are two different surface finishing methods for metal products. PVD coating is commonly used on colored stainless steel sheets for architectural decoration, while painting offers a wider range of coating systems for different metal substrates and environments.

Product Advantages
1.Superior substrate performance
Base material is ASTM A240 304 stainless steel. It inherits excellent mechanical strength and good corrosion resistance of 304 grade, suitable for long-term indoor decorative environments, not easy to rust.
2.Durable PVD vacuum deposition coating
Color layer formed under high vacuum physical vapor deposition. Unlike paint coating, the color film bonds tightly with stainless steel substrate. It features high scratch resistance, stable color and no peeling or chipping.
3.Rich decorative visual effect
Supports multiple base finishes (mirror, hairline, satin) plus various PVD colors: rose gold, black titanium, bronze, champagne gold, blue. Anti-fingerprint treatment is optional to keep surface clean easily.
4.Good workability
0.8–2.0mm sheet can be cut, bent, grooved and fabricated on site, convenient for processing into decorative components. The vacuum coating will not fall off during normal cold working.
5.Eco-friendly decorative finish
PVD vacuum coating contains no paint solvent and volatile organics. Low pollution, meets interior decoration environmental requirements for hotels and commercial buildings.
6.Stable standard size supply
Standard dimension 1219×2438mm (4×8 ft), thickness range 0.8–2.0mm. Stable stock for fast delivery; custom sizes and colors available for special projects.
