2mm Satin Brushed Finish Stainless Steel Sheet Metal For Industrial And Architectural
Product Overview

2mm 430 Satin Brushed Finish Stainless Steel Sheet Metal is a cold-rolled stainless steel sheet supplied in 2.0mm thickness and 1219 × 2438mm standard size. It features a uniform satin-brushed surface that provides a clean, directional appearance while helping reduce the visibility of minor surface marks.

Grade 430 is a ferritic stainless steel with good corrosion resistance, formability and heat resistance for general industrial and architectural applications. The sheet can be supplied with PVC/PE protective film to help protect the brushed surface during handling, transportation and fabrication.

JUDE STEEL supplies 430 satin brushed stainless steel sheets to ASTM A240 / ASME SA240, with dimensional and surface inspection and EN 10204 3.1 MTC available for bulk industrial orders. Cut-to-size and other processing services can be provided according to project requirements.

Standard 1219 × 2438mm Sheet Size

The standard size for this 2mm 430 stainless steel sheet is 1219 × 2438 mm, approximately 48 × 96 inches. This fixed sheet size is commonly used for architectural panels, equipment covers, interior fabrication and other applications requiring a consistent sheet format.

With a 2.0mm thickness, the sheet provides a practical balance between rigidity and ease of fabrication. The satin brushed finish gives the surface a uniform directional grain and clean appearance, while protective film can be applied to reduce surface damage during handling and transportation.

What Is 430 Satin Brushed Stainless Steel Sheet?

430 satin brushed stainless steel sheet is a cold-rolled ferritic stainless steel sheet with a mechanically brushed surface. Grade 430 contains chromium as its main alloying element and is commonly selected for applications requiring a clean appearance, moderate corrosion resistance and good dimensional stability.

The satin brushed finish is produced by controlled abrasive treatment of the stainless steel surface, creating a fine, uniform grain pattern with a softer, low-gloss appearance than a highly polished surface. The directional texture also helps make minor handling marks less noticeable.

For this product, the sheet is supplied in 2.0mm thickness and 1219 × 2438mm standard size. It is manufactured to ASTM A240 / ASME SA240 and can be used for architectural panels, interior components, equipment covers, decorative fabrication and general industrial applications.

Unlike austenitic grades such as 304, 430 stainless steel is magnetic and contains little to no intentional nickel addition. It is often considered when the application does not require the higher corrosion resistance of 304 but still needs a stainless steel surface with a consistent brushed appearance.

Satin Brushed Surface Finish

The satin brushed finish is a mechanically produced surface texture with fine, uniform lines running in a consistent direction. Abrasive belts or brushes are used to create the grain after the stainless steel sheet has been cold rolled and prepared for finishing.

Compared with a bright or highly polished surface, satin brushing produces a softer, low-gloss appearance and gives the sheet a more uniform visual texture. Minor handling marks are generally less noticeable on the directional grain, although the finish should still be protected during transportation and fabrication.

For this 2mm 430 satin brushed stainless steel sheet, the surface is supplied with a consistent brushed appearance suitable for architectural panels, interior components, equipment covers and decorative metal fabrication.

430 Stainless Steel Chemical Composition

The chemical composition of 430 stainless steel (UNS S43000) is controlled primarily by chromium, with a low carbon content typical of this ferritic stainless steel grade. The composition provides the corrosion resistance, magnetic properties and general forming characteristics associated with Grade 430.

Element Composition, %
Carbon (C) ≤ 0.12
Manganese (Mn) ≤ 1.00
Silicon (Si) ≤ 1.00
Phosphorus (P) ≤ 0.040
Sulfur (S) ≤ 0.030
Chromium (Cr) 16.0–18.0
Nickel (Ni) ≤ 0.75
Iron (Fe) Balance
430 Stainless Steel Mechanical Properties

The mechanical properties of 430 stainless steel sheet depend on the material condition and applicable specification. For cold-rolled sheet supplied to ASTM A240 / ASME SA240, the following values are commonly used for Grade 430:

Property Typical / Minimum Value
Tensile Strength ≥ 450 MPa
Yield Strength (0.2% Offset) ≥ 205 MPa
Elongation ≥ 22%
Hardness, Rockwell B ≤ 89 HRB
Hardness, Brinell ≤ 183 HB
430 Stainless Steel Physical Properties

The physical properties of 430 stainless steel are typical of a ferritic stainless steel and remain useful for applications requiring moderate corrosion resistance, heat resistance and magnetic response.

Melting Range 1425–1510°C
Thermal Conductivity 26.1 W/m·K at 20°C
Specific Heat Capacity 460 J/kg·K
Electrical Resistivity 0.60 μΩ·m at 20°C
Elastic Modulus 200 GPa
Poisson's Ratio 0.29
Coefficient of Thermal Expansion 10.4 × 10⁻⁶ /K
Magnetic Property Magnetic
430 Stainless Steel vs 304 Stainless Steel Sheet

Both 430 and 304 stainless steel sheets are widely used, but they have different alloy compositions and are better suited to different service conditions. Grade 430 is a ferritic, magnetic stainless steel, while 304 is an austenitic grade with higher nickel content and generally better corrosion resistance.

Feature 430 Stainless Steel Sheet 304 Stainless Steel Sheet
Stainless Steel Type Ferritic Austenitic
UNS S43000 S30400
Chromium 16–18% 18–20%
Nickel ≤0.75% 8–10.5%
Magnetic Yes Generally non-magnetic
Corrosion Resistance Good in mild environments Better, especially in demanding environments
Formability Moderate Good
Weldability More limited Good
Cost Generally lower Generally higher
