This Grade 1 commercially pure titanium rod is manufactured via professional forging process, a high-performance non-ferrous metal material completely different from all stainless steel rods and pipes introduced earlier. Renowned for extreme corrosion resistance, lightweight property and stable chemical inertness, it is specially developed for harsh chemical and industrial environments where ordinary stainless steel cannot serve long-term. Adopting integral forging forming, the material features compact internal structure and excellent mechanical stability. As a commercial-grade industrial titanium material, it balances premium performance and reasonable cost, becoming a core raw material for anti-corrosion equipment manufacturing and chemical engineering projects worldwide.
Unique Material Properties & Core Advantages
Grade 1 commercially pure titanium stands out mainly for its ultra-strong comprehensive corrosion resistance, which is far superior to 316L, 2205 duplex steel and other high-end stainless steels. It can resist erosion by most acids, alkalis, salts, organic solvents and chloride media. Even in strong corrosive chemical solutions, seawater and damp chemical workshop environments, it will not produce pitting corrosion, rust or material dissolution, achieving ultra-long service life.
Different from stainless steel relying on surface passivation film for protection, titanium forms an extremely stable dense oxide film spontaneously in contact with air and liquid. This protective layer can repair itself automatically even if scratched, continuously isolating corrosive substances and maintaining material stability permanently. Meanwhile, pure titanium features low density and light weight while retaining decent structural strength. Compared with steel products of the same volume, it effectively reduces the overall load of equipment and structures, bringing convenience to equipment installation and operation.
In addition, Grade 1 pure titanium has excellent non-magnetic property, good biocompatibility and low chemical activity. It will not react with most chemical raw materials, ensuring the purity of production media and avoiding product contamination. It also performs stably under normal and medium temperature conditions, with no performance attenuation caused by temperature fluctuation in conventional chemical workshops.
Forging Process & Structural Advantages
This product adopts integral hot forging technology, which is the key to distinguish it from rolled titanium bars. Repeated high-temperature forging fully compacts the internal grain structure, eliminates tiny pores, inclusions and loose defects inside the material. The overall density and structural uniformity are greatly improved, so the forged titanium rod has higher toughness, impact resistance and fatigue resistance.
Under long-term static load, vibration and alternating stress in chemical equipment operation, it is not easy to deform, bend or fracture. After forging, professional heat treatment is carried out to release internal forging stress, ensuring the rod body maintains excellent straightness and dimensional stability during subsequent cutting, bending and assembly. The surface of the forged rod is firm and wear-resistant, not easy to peel or damage in harsh working scenes.
Machinability & Processing Characteristics
Grade 1 pure titanium has moderate hardness and good ductility, adapting to various conventional industrial processing techniques. It supports sawing, turning, drilling, threading and bending. Although its cutting characteristics differ from stainless steel, matched processing tools and parameters can achieve smooth processing with neat cut surfaces.
It has reliable welding performance. The welded joint maintains the same corrosion resistance and mechanical performance as the base metal, and no special anti-corrosion treatment is needed after welding.
