410S cold rolled prime stainless steel is a mainstream low-carbon martensitic industrial-grade stainless steel, specially optimized for general industrial mechanical manufacturing scenarios. Unlike 300-series austenitic stainless steel which emphasizes corrosion resistance and forming performance, and 409L ferritic stainless steel which focuses on architectural weather resistance and cost performance, 410S takes mechanical hardness and anti-wear performance as its core design. As a low-carbon upgraded version of standard 410 stainless steel, 410S effectively improves the poor weldability and brittleness defects of traditional 410 steel, retaining the excellent heat treatment hardening characteristics of martensitic steel while obtaining better processing adaptability. The biggest feature that distinguishes 410S from all austenitic and ferritic stainless steel is its adjustable hardness and outstanding mechanical wear resistance. Austenitic stainless steel such as 304/316 cannot be hardened by heat treatment with stable low hardness, while 410S can significantly improve surface hardness, tensile strength and surface wear resistance through simple quenching and tempering heat treatment.
