Bulk Supply of Hot Rolled Stainless Steel Sheet for Southeast Asian Industrial Engineering Project

This is a long-term strategic cooperation case of hot rolled stainless steel sheets between our company and a large industrial manufacturing group in Malaysia. The customer is a leading local supplier of industrial equipment and structural engineering materials, mainly serving infrastructure construction, chemical equipment, and mechanical manufacturing projects in Southeast Asia.

In November 2025, the customer launched a public bidding for a batch of duplex stainless steel hot rolled sheets to support its local industrial park expansion project. After strict factory audits, sample testing, and solution comparison, we successfully won the bid and signed a formal supply contract. The total order quantity reaches 338.63 tons, covering multiple conventional and customized thickness specifications, which is a typical large-batch and high-standard hot rolled stainless steel sheet export project.

Before cooperation, the customer had been troubled by unstable product quality and insufficient supply capacity of previous suppliers. For this industrial engineering project, they put forward extremely strict technical and delivery requirements, focusing on the following core demands:

• Strict Material Performance Standards: Adopt ASTM A240 standard S2205 duplex stainless steel, which requires high tensile strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and anti-oxidation performance, adapting to humid and high-salt industrial environments in Southeast Asia.
• Diversified Customized Specifications: Cover thicknesses of 4mm, 5mm, 6mm and 24mm, with customized fixed-size cutting sheets. The flatness, thickness tolerance and surface finish of the steel sheets must meet project secondary precision standards.
• Zero Defect Surface Quality: No scratches, oxidation spots, cracks or layered defects on the surface; uniform internal metal structure, qualified non-destructive testing (NDT) report is required.
• Strict Delivery Cycle: The customer required all goods to be produced, inspected and shipped within 25 working days to ensure the smooth progress of the subsequent industrial park construction schedule.
• Complete Certification Documents: Provide full set of official documents including material test report (MTR), factory qualification certificate, customs declaration documents, and third-party inspection certificate to meet local customs clearance and project acceptance standards.

Combined with the customer’s project attributes and personalized requirements, we formulated a one-stop customized production, quality control and delivery solution for hot rolled stainless steel sheets, covering the whole process from raw material selection to after-sales service:

Our technical team communicated with the customer’s engineering team in depth for 3 working days, confirmed the application scenarios, load requirements and environmental adaptability of the steel sheets, and optimized the rolling process parameters for different thickness specifications. All raw materials are selected from high-purity stainless steel billets, with strict control of carbon, chromium, nickel and molybdenum element ratios to ensure the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of S2205 duplex steel reach the international standard.

Adopt advanced high-temperature hot rolling process and intelligent rolling control system to ensure uniform thickness and stable flatness of each steel sheet. For thin and thick specifications in the order, we adopt segmented rolling and temperature control technology to avoid product deformation and performance deviation. After rolling, all products undergo stress relief annealing treatment to improve the toughness and structural stability of the steel sheets, eliminating the risk of subsequent processing cracking.

We implemented a three-level inspection system for this order: workshop self-inspection, factory re-inspection and third-party sampling inspection. The inspection items include dimensional tolerance, surface quality, tensile strength, yield strength, hardness, chemical composition and corrosion resistance test. All products passed 100% full inspection, and no unqualified products were found. Meanwhile, we completed customized fixed-size cutting according to customer drawings to ensure zero error in size matching.

Considering the long-distance ocean transportation and humid marine climate, we adopted waterproof, rust-proof and shock-proof integrated packaging: wrap each steel sheet with professional waterproof film and rust-proof paper, fix with wooden pallets and steel belts, and paste anti-collision and moisture-proof marks. We completed all production and inspection work 3 days in advance, and arranged container loading and sea shipment on schedule, ensuring on-time delivery.

The entire project was completed efficiently with zero quality problems and zero delivery delays. After the goods arrived at the Malaysian port, they passed local customs clearance and project acceptance smoothly. The customer’s engineering team conducted on-site sampling and testing, and all performance indicators of the hot rolled stainless steel sheets fully met and even exceeded the project design standards.
