This series adopts alpha-beta dual-phase titanium alloy structure, redeveloped on the basis of conventional pure titanium grades GR1 to GR4, which is different from single near-alpha titanium alloy and ordinary alpha-phase pure titanium we introduced before. By regulating phase composition during smelting and thermal processing, it integrates the corrosion resistance of alpha titanium and the high load-bearing capacity of beta phase, focusing on industrial general working conditions that require both mechanical performance and environmental adaptability. Combined with optimized forging and rolling processes, the rods deliver balanced high strength, excellent toughness and stable fatigue resistance. It is a cost-effective universal titanium material tailored for large-scale industrial manufacturing, covering light, medium and heavy load scenarios to meet diversified production demands.

Alpha-Beta Phase Structural Characteristics & Grade Differentiation

The core feature of this product lies in controllable dual-phase metallographic structure. Compared with single-phase titanium, the interlaced distribution of alpha and beta grains effectively improves the material's comprehensive mechanical properties, avoiding the limitation that single-phase titanium is either too soft for heavy load or too hard for forming. The four grades form a clear performance gradient while retaining dual-phase advantages:

  • GR1 Alpha-Beta Titanium Rod: Retains superior ductility and cold formability. The proportion of beta phase is moderately increased to enhance basic strength on the premise of ensuring easy bending and stamping. It is suitable for light-load parts needing frequent forming, and maintains top-tier corrosion resistance against atmospheric and mild chemical erosion.
  • GR2 Alpha-Beta Titanium Rod: The most widely used universal grade in the series. Alpha and beta phases are proportioned optimally, achieving a perfect balance of strength, toughness, corrosion resistance and machinability. It adapts to most conventional industrial environments and working loads, and is the preferred choice for standardized mass production.
  • GR3 Alpha-Beta Titanium Rod: Further elevates the ratio of beta phase, with significantly improved tensile strength and surface hardness. It resists medium impact and continuous dynamic stress, and its anti-fatigue performance is greatly enhanced. It will not deform or loosen under long-term vibration, ideal for medium-load moving components.
  • GR4 Alpha-Beta Titanium Rod: The highest-strength model of this lineup. The dual-phase structure is fully optimized to maximize structural rigidity and impact resistance. It can withstand heavy static load and strong instantaneous impact, meanwhile keeping good toughness to prevent brittle fracture, applicable to key force-bearing parts in industrial equipment.

All grades inherit titanium’s natural merits: low density, non-magnetism, and excellent resistance to seawater, salt mist and common acid-base media. The dual-phase structure also improves thermal stability, with no obvious performance decline under normal and medium temperature cycles.

Craftsmanship & Industrial-Oriented Production Design

Aiming at industrial batch application, we adopt combined processes of multi-pass hot forging, continuous rolling and phase-stabilizing heat treatment. During thermal processing, we precisely control temperature and holding time to ensure uniform distribution of alpha and beta phases inside the material, eliminate internal pores, inclusions and loose structures. After forming, secondary stress relief treatment is conducted to remove residual stress generated by forging and rolling. The finished rod features excellent straightness and roundness, and will not twist, warp or rebound during subsequent cutting, threading and assembly. The surface adopts practical industrial finish, which is wear-resistant and scratch-proof, no need for complex surface treatment in general use scenarios, effectively reducing downstream processing costs.

Machinability & On-Site Application Advantages

Different from high-end special titanium alloys with harsh processing requirements, this alpha-beta series is optimized for common industrial processing equipment. It is compatible with lathe turning, drilling, milling, sawing and conventional welding. The cutting resistance is moderate, tool wear is low, and the cut surface is neat without burrs. Welded joints can maintain the same dual-phase structure and performance as the base metal, no complicated post-weld heat treatment is required, which greatly simplifies on-site operation.

For parts that need bending and shaping, the material has moderate resilience, easy to control forming accuracy. Even after multiple repeated processing, the structure remains stable. Performance Comparison With Other Metal Materials

Against ordinary GR1-GR4 single-phase pure titanium: The alpha-beta dual-phase structure greatly improves strength and anti-impact capability, breaking the limitation that pure titanium is only suitable for light-load anti-corrosion scenarios. It expands the application range to medium and heavy load industrial components.

Against stainless steel and alloy steel: It has far stronger corrosion resistance in humid, coastal and chemical workshops, and does not need regular anti-rust coating maintenance. Its lightweight feature can effectively reduce the self-weight of equipment, lower energy consumption during equipment operation and movement. In terms of toughness, it is less likely to crack under strong impact than common alloy steel.
